Fugu:
Fugu flesh tastes light and delicious. It is eaten raw as sashimi
or cooked with vegetables. However, fugu livers and ovaries contain
a highly toxic poison. Thus, a chef must have a special license
to prepare fugu. Long ago, eating fugu was often fatal, with the
poison inducing sudden death. Thus, fugu was nicknamed "gun." Sake
flavored by pouring it hot over scorched fugu fins has a special
flavor loved by gourmets.
